KitKat Milk Coffee flavor was developed to support students during their exam preparation and provide a moment of relief when they need it. It was originally manufactured and sold by Rowntree's in York, England from 1911 until 1988 when Nestle bought out the company. Since then, it has been one of Nestle's most popular and widely distributed products. The iconic slogan for Kit Kat is “Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat”. In 1937, Rowntree's launched an advertising campaign for the KitKat that focused on its connection to tea time rituals. The ads also featured images of people drinking tea alongside their KitKats—an image that has been associated with this candy ever since!

Why do Japanese like Kit Kat?

The debate about the proper spelling of KitKat has been ongoing for decades. While many people use the spelling "KitKat," some prefer to spell it as two words: "Kit Kat." Both spellings are widely accepted, so whether you prefer one or the other is up to personal preference! No matter how you choose to spell it, No, KitKats are not gluten free as they contain wheat and other grains which contain gluten. However, there are some gluten-free alternatives that can be found in certain stores. These bars often use vegan ingredients such as dark chocolate and coconut oil instead of wheat and other grains. They may also contain additional flavors like strawberry or matcha for a unique twist on the classic KitKat.

This is a new UK flavour of Kit Kat, not an imported one as much as we love those it is nice to see bars which are more widely available here. The UK can’t compete with Japan’s Kit Kat selection but to be fair we do get a few nice varieties of our own. However like many British Kit Kats this new bar looks like it has fallen victim to caramel thinking (the idea that if you flavour it with caramel it will sell). We have had a lot of variations of caramel Kit Kat in the past, fudge caramel, salted caramel, gold caramel to name just a few. Here we have Kit Kat Chunky Salted Caramel Popcorn. At least there is a twist of popcorn too, it does make it a bit more interesting. I have a thing for candied popcorn and I’m constantly trying new versions. Popcorn with candy bars and various add-ins is a great way to get that salty/sweet flavor combination that so many love!
